I have been taking it as a tea for four years after having suffered from a detached retina. My sight in that eye has not deteriorated but in fact has slightly improved, I needed two operations for the retina as the first was not successful so I would assume that my condition was worse than usual.

I use eyebright extract (about 20-40 drops in a bit of water) for stuffed up nasal passages and/or post nasal drip. It works really well for me. I don't use it all the time, only when my congestion is on the verge of causing inner ear problems, like vertigo. I find it's most effective when used as needed like that.
