I have serious difficulty digesting red meat. Following a dinner including red meat, I used to wake up in the middle of the night with a very painful burning sensation in my esophagus (commonly called 'heartburn'. Now I usually take one betaine/HCL capsule (or sometimes two) during or following a red meat meal, to significantly boost my stomach acid level, and NEVER have the burning sensa

I was diagnosed with asthma, reflux, and gallstones, and constantly had post-nasal drip, runny nose, and chest congestion. My dentist referred me to a nutritionist when he realized my blood type was A+ and, as a bariatric patient (gastric sleeve) was having a difficult time digesting much needed protein and was also having problems with constipation. Within a day I noticed a difference. No more gurgling or churning in my stomach after my small protein-laden meals. Bowel habits returned to normal within 2 days.

I suffered from acid reflux for years, doctors had always prescribed things like prilosec, nexium, some other kind of proton pump inhibitors.
