I wanted to use this as a treatment for depression. Taking 400mg once a day and only a week into use, it's given me constipation, mild headaches, insomnia, gas, and dry mouth. I'm willing to finish all of the 36 doses to cure or alleviate some the depression if there are no more added sideffects.

I use 200 mg twice daily as part of a low dose combo regimen, with first dose upon awakening/30 min before breakfast. 200mg worked well for a few days but didn't have the same results after 2 weeks. I'm waiting to see if it is unrelated before I bump up to 400mg. Vit D suppl had the same amount of feeling better. I'm working on finding a good mix to get better. I don't want to be on Zoloft or any prescription anymore but I'm not there yet.

    Comment:
I had gas pockets in the intestine after taking SAM-E, which has become very painful and warranted trip to the hospital. I became extremely hostile and nearly lost my job. The constipation was the last straw. I saw a commercial advertising SAM-E and found that it was available without a prescription, and purchased the supplemnt. Worse decision I made!
