    Each 400 mg gymnemia pill will lower my blood sugar level between 8 and 14 points. I take it with a meal after testing my blood sugar. I am 74 years old and have had type 2 diabetes for about 6 years. A meal including any potatoes, Chinese food, rice or white bread will jump BS by 100 to 180 points.     I was taking metformin that was prescribed however the side effects all most dud me in. The anxiety and nervousness was horrible. I found Gymnema by accident at whole foods. It has helped me 10 fold. Make sure its standardized. Along with diet and exercise its awesome! Highly recommended.

    Gymnema has been used by physicians in India for treating diabetes for years. Gymnema means "destroyer of sugar". I take it in liquid form and purchase it online from a US company in Greece as the US tablet and liquid form is garbage. The Gymnema MUST be from India (the only place it grows) to be effective.
