When I was unable to tolerate stating drugs my doctor recommended red yeast rice. After taking it a for over two months I am experiencing the same side effects as statin drugs! Legs ache so bad it hurts to walk. Arms and neck pain as bad. I will stop taking today and take my chances with high cholesterol which I have had all my life and I am a retired senior.

I heard so many wonder about RYR, but it didn't work quite well or the way I expected for me. I have taken it for 2 months (2400mg a day), My ldl was 157 and only dropped to 146. 11 points only. Besides, I have been taking fish oil at the same time and for a year long, I think fish oil did the trick rather than RYR. My triglycerides wad down 137 points .. I don't think RYR affected tha ...
