I have been taking melatonin since 2007, it is now December 2019. I've never suffered any noticeable side effects. Although after having taken melatonin for so long, I feel as though I've developed a resistance. I now take an upwards of 40mg per night. It did a fantastic job at getting me to sleep, witch has always been an issue for me, but it worsened my depression significantly.

I have had horrible feelings since I started melatonin. I feel hung-over, and yesterday I was close to hallucinating. I was definitely altered. The only thing that has changed is that I started taking the melatonin a week ago. One day the feeling of being altered was so intense that I didn't recognize a good friend I've known for over a year! I use a CPAP, and since I've started melato ... Show Full Comment
