Comment:
Had very sore throat, a lot of phlegm, when traveling in Europe. Bought white horehound capsules at pharmacy: have been ordering from Belgium and France for past 3 years, take 3 a day (a.m., noon, p.m). Does wonders for me, no more pain swallowing, not clearing my throat as much. Too bad I can't find it in the USA.

Comment:
I grew some horehound to see what I thought of it as a way to treat cough and sore throat. It does a good job, although it's not the best-tasting herb ever. I put a couple sprigs in with mint tea and LOTS of honey (yes, the honey helps, too, I've tried it alone but it just tastes better this way). It does help clear the lungs a bit, too.

Comment:
Be aware, kind reader, that you may be allergic to the herb horehound. I had it in hard candy and in less than an hour got a nasty allergic reaction -- a body rash that itched like crazy. I had to go to the doctor for a shot and some Benadryl.
