My brother cut open the spiny ball and made tea with the seeds. I drank 1/2 cup of mine and he drank the rest plus all of his. I don't remember much except horror for the next 12 hours or so. It made me very sick, and oh boy, I felt like my brain was just not working for days after, like the absolute worst hangover you could ever get. Several friends injected seeds at a football game. Later that night around 5 of them were in the hospital with 2 of them near death. I am all for fun but dying to have fun does not seem like a great idea.

I can't believe they have Jimson Weed listed as a treatment for anything on here. So very toxic and a possible killer if ingested. Grew up on a farm, and not even hogs would touch it, and they eat just about anything.

A couple friends and I ate the roots of this plant as teenagers. We all blacked out for many hours, and were rendered idiots for nearly a day. All experienced terrifying and utterly compelling visual and auditory hallucinations. It is akin to being trapped in a waking nightmare for 12 hours. You feel terrible and can't remember almost anything. Zero positive or interesting effects, no insight. You're totally delusional, so you can do incredibly stupid things. Plus you feel feverish and parched. One friend ended up in the hospital for 3 days. Dosage is impossible, and the taste is unbelievably bad. No one would ever take it twice. THIS STUFF IS AWFUL -- AVOID IT LIKE A POISON
